Preparing Your Entry
- Entries must be completely finished, clean and in good condition. Please
baste a piece of fabric over any permanent name label on the quilt. It will be
removed after judging.
- Attach a 4” hanging sleeve to the back of all quilts.
- Submit each entry in a cloth bag marked with your name, address,
telephone number and the competition category.
- Enclose the second copy of the completed entry form with the quilt. Retain
the original for proof of ownership.
- Quilts may be delivered in person to Margaret Cale, 663 Lakeside Trail, RR
1 Ripley.
For special arrangements or more information call 519-395-2291.
Hanging Sleeve Directions
- Cut a 9” wide fabric strip, cutting it 1” shorter than the top measurement of
the quilt. Hem each end by pressing under 1/2”, then press under 1/2” again,
enclosing raw edges. Machine stitch close to inner fold.
- With wrong sides together and long edges even, stitch using 1/4” seam
allowance.
Centre the seam allowance on the side of the sleeve and press.
- Centre the sleeve along the top of the quilt, with the seam allowance of the
sleeve next to the quilt back. Attach the sleeve by hand stitching along both
long edges. The sleeve will be narrower than the quilt, but this allows a dowel
to be inserted into the sleeve without showing.

entry.
