Agri-Fair
We had a successful day Tuesday at Chesley's Midwestern Agri-Fair.
The event, celebrating 25 years is held at the Chesley Community
Centre offering the Arena, Curling Club and Hall facilities for
exhibit areas. The show runs between 12 noon and 9pm. IPM 2008 has a
double booth space in the Arena which drew a good amount of
attention and business Tuesday. Attendance wasn't incredibly busy,
likely due to the warm weather.
The IPM is featuring our new Posters, Lily Bulbs, Advance Tickets,
CD's, and complete line of Souvenir items.
Special to Wednesday's Agri-Fair events, IPM 2008 is pleased to
welcome Poster Artist Ken Thornburn to our booth area to greet with
the public and autograph IPM Posters for a short period in the
afternoon beginning at 1:30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend and
meet Ken and hear about the interesting journey of creating the IPM
Poster.
This is also the very last chance to purchase trees from the
Beautification Tree Fundraiser. Please talk to Jennifer Isber Legge
ASAP as the final chance to order is Wednesday night. The trees will
be delivered Sunday at the Formosa Breakfast.
Spring Breakfast Event - Formosa
Bring the kids and grandkids out Sunday to Formosa for a fun
Breakfast Event. Much more than a great meal, for only 6 dollars
(Adult Admission) you get a home style breakfast with all of the
trimmings prepared by John Benniger and Co. on the Antiques
Committee. Tickets for children between 4 and 10 are only 3 dollars
and youngsters under 4 are allowed in free. In addition to getting a
bite to eat, with each Adult Breakfast ticket you are given a chance
to have an interesting or unique item appraised in the upper level
of the Formosa Community Centre. Expert Appraisers Len Metcalfe
(Metcalfe Auctions, Mildmay), Ken Scott (Yokassippi Auctions,
Teeswater), Dan Bailey (Bailey Auctions, Hanover) aswell as Brenda
Hafermehl a Jewellery Appraiser who operates Hafermehl Jewellers in
Hanover and Ross King who collects coins, money and post cards will
be on hand to offer some historical tips about your item and
estimated value for fun and interest sake. Should you have
additional items to be appraised, a donation of 5 dollars per item
is requested. (Note: Ross King is offering his services by the
amount of time, not items. Each Appraisal time would be
approximately 5 mintues etc. in which a number of coins or post
cards could be reviewed.) Also Sunday, IPM Souvenirs available and
this is a Beautification Committee Tree Fundraiser pick-up location
for anyone who ordered Trees. The IPM Flower of the Match, red lilly
bulbs will also be for sale.
WARNING! Two deadlines
approaching quickly!
As we enjoy the warmer weather,
please promote to family and friends that time is soon running out
for two compents of the IPM activities.

Entries for the Family
Lifestyles Quilt Competition need to be received by June
15th. See the website for complete competition guidelines.

Also, the IPM Beautification
Competition Deadline is May 31st. This competition offers a
variety of categories for farm, businesss and residental
properties. New to IPM's, the Bruce County Committee has
introduced a Photo Category featuring a Bruce County photo of
Sowing or Harvesting. As the tractors are busy in the fields
over the next few weeks, be sure to try and take a picture or
two.
