With just hours to the opening of the 2008 International Plowing
Match being held near Teeswater organizers have received
confirmation that Ontario's Lieutenant Governor David C. Onley is
planning to attend.
Arriving Wednesday morning, Mr. Onley will have time to tour the IPM
Site before appearing on the Main Stage at 11:45am - the second day
of the IPM.
The IPM opens it's five day show Tuesday September 16th at 8:30am. A
parade begins at 10am touring the IPM grounds, winding through the
Tented City Streets and Main Stage area before the ceremonies
officially opening the IPM is held at 11:30am.
An Interfaith Worship Church Service was held Sunday afternoon at
the Teeswater Community Centre.
The IPM is hosted by farmers Wayne and Wendy McKague and neighbours
who together have offered more than 1000 acres to host the event. A
Sold Out Tented City consisting of 650 Exhibitors and approximately
2000 volunteers will be on hand to welcome tens of thousands of
visitors from across the province.
The IPM runs Tuesday September 16th to Saturday September 20th
between 8:30am and 5pm daily northeast of Teeswater along Highway 4.
