(Teeswater) - The second day of Bruce County’s International Plowing
Match was successful welcoming Ontario’s Lieutenant Governor David
Onley. His Honour, Mr. Onley had an opportunity to meet IPM
exhibitors and visitors before an appearance on the IPM Main Stage.
Mr. Onley spoke of how large and impressive the Bruce County IPM
Tented City grounds were and the dedication of everyone involved in
the farming community.

Wednesday was a great day near Teeswater at the IPM. Parking fields
were busy with a steady flow of vehicles arriving on site while the
streets of Tented City were bustling with activity as visitors
toured about the 650 Exhibits and displays. The RV Park has been
able to help IPM RVer’s get onsite and setup after a short delay
Monday due to wet weekend weather.
Ontario Queen of the Furrow Katie Cheesmond and the Queen of the
Furrow representatives from 33 Branch Associations across Ontario
plowed within the Tented City limits just outside the Antique area.
Thursday the main stage will feature the Queen of the Furrow
speeches between 9:30am and 12:30pm. A special crowning banquet will
be held Thursday night to announce the new 2009 Ontario Queen of the
Furrow who will represent the Temiskaming IPM to be held next year.
Tickets are still available for the event held Thursday night at the
Teeswater Community Centre. Tickets should be reserved or purchased
in advance by calling 1-877-IPM-2008 or visiting the Ontario
Plowmen’s Association Tent near Gate 5 at the IPM.
Thursday the IPM expects Tsuneto Sasaki, Japanese Trade Commissioner
- Embassy of Canada with a delegation of 9 other government and
business officials from Japan organized by the Canadian
International Grains Institute and Canadian Soybean Council
expecting to arrive at the IPM about 1pm.
The IPM continues until Saturday from 8:30am until 5:00pm north east
of Teeswater on the farm of Wayne and Wendy McKague. Complete
