The 2008 International Plowing
Match has now come and gone.
What a week it was!
It is estimated a total of 84,000
people walked through the gates of IPM over the five days.
About 18,000 people visited on the closing day.
Some of Saturday's Highlights
include:
- An Auction of IPM's Mascot Baby
Bruce, Original Artwork, Trucks #7 and 9, Hockey Jersey and
other IPM items like picnic tables, benches and decorative items
was held.
- Closing Ceremonies, passing the
torch onto Temiskaming District.
- Junior Plowing Competition - a
good number of local plowpeople entered.
- 58 planes visited the IPM coming
from areas east of Cornwall, South of Delhi, north and also west
of Thunderbay.
- IPM Parade had many floats and
displays from IPM exhibitors and supporters on it's closing day.
- IPM Rug Hooked Wall Hanging was
drawn Friday night at the OPG Plowing Awards of
Excellence Banquet. Winner is: Edythe Oberle of Mildmay
